PETERSEN AUTOMOTIVE MUSEUM
Working with Bill Wadsworth and Tristan Maduro at Mind Over Eye, I developed one of the panoramic motion concepts for the three-floor video installation at the Petersen’s stunning reopening. I went with a natural media style—gestural pencil sketches and watercolor washes—to emphasize the poetry between organic forms and the luxury automotive design of that era. I was chasing the math and symmetry found in streamlined teardrop shapes and sweeping curves, pulling inspiration from the carapace of a horseshoe crab, the arc of a leaping deer, and the gestures of a ballet dancer. It was amazing to take my kids to the museum and experience this giant work of art and tech that MOE captured so beautifully.
